Personal work

Beyond commercial design

I explore the image through art, illustration and design applied to objects and spaces. From commissioned pieces to work of my own, every creation is a chance to experiment, tell visual stories and take ideas beyond the screen. This is where I share my creative process, my personal explorations and the different ways an idea can come to life.

01

Applied design

From concept to object.

I develop custom graphic solutions for decorative objects, collectible pieces and spaces. Starting from each client's ideas, needs and references, I turn concepts into designs that combine creativity, visual judgement and technical precision. I handle the whole design process, from building the proposal to preparing the final artwork with the specifications its production requires, working with specialist partners when the job calls for it.

A selection of projects showing how an idea becomes a tangible piece — from portraits and art for collectors to murals and decorative vinyl.

Project 01

Custom portrait

Every project starts with an idea and a reference. Here the challenge was to read an image the client shared and turn it into a custom graphic proposal, attending to the detail, the composition and everything the intended result required.

Project 02

Meteoro · Graphic art for a collector's piece

A passion for collectible cars turned into an exercise in scale design. This project adapts the look of Meteoro — Speed Racer — to a collector's piece, pulling composition, colour and visual detail together to give the result its own character.

Project 03

Gustavo Cerati · A mural between music and painting

Music and visual art meet in this piece dedicated to Gustavo Cerati. The portrait combines the expressive force of his figure with a graphic language drawn from Vincent van Gogh, building a composition where two artistic languages share the same surface.

Project 04

Bogotá · Decorative vinyl

A city's identity can become part of a room. This project takes Bogotá into the language of decorative vinyl, using design to transform a surface and build a composition that belongs to the space around it.

Original work

A way of looking that is my own

My artistic work is a space for personal exploration, where I develop ideas, visual languages and pieces that carry my own way of looking. Through painting, illustration and different reproduction techniques, I experiment with shapes, textures and concepts that give life to original pieces and artistic projects — from work made entirely by hand to specialised processes such as screen printing.

Project 01

Downtown Bogotá · An intervened view

A spontaneous snapshot of the city becomes a piece of visual expression. This photograph, taken on a phone in downtown Bogotá, was worked over with elements of the JANYO visual identity and then framed. An exercise that turns an everyday scene into a composition where photography, design and a personal gaze meet.

Project 02

Stay Sweet at Home · Digital illustration

Made in 2020, during the pandemic, this illustration is an invitation to live sweetly in the middle of uncertainty. Through colour, shape and a playful composition, the piece carries a message of closeness and optimism — a reminder of how much the small moments at home are worth.

Project 03

Expanding the view · Photographic exhibition

An exploration of the image and how it can be perceived. In this exhibition piece, photographs printed on acetate become the medium for experimenting with transparency, overlay and the relationship between image and support. An invitation to look past the obvious and find new ways of reading the visual.

Project 04

Dreams and realities · Acrylic painting

A painted composition that brings together imagination, colour and contrast to explore where what we dream meets what we live. Made in acrylic on canvas at 50 × 70 cm, this piece follows a personal search through characters, shapes and scenes that sit between the fantastic and the everyday.

Bogotá, its stories and its contradictions, illustrated through my own eyes. 3 Colores is an art project where I explore ideas, lived experience and the social and cultural problems of Bogotá, the city I live in. Across ten illustrations, I translate situations from my surroundings into images meant to provoke thought and to show how I read urban reality.

Each piece was made by hand, screen printed on clear acrylic, combining illustration, contrast and a three-colour palette that gives the exhibition its identity.

More than showing what I see, this project is a way of saying what I think — of turning what troubles me about the city into a visual language of my own.

The idea for this show began in 2019, when I already had a handful of ideas and a way to make them real. It is made up of ten pieces, each on a different subject but all using the same technique. Like everything an artist makes, these pieces are a part of me — I invite you to stay and go through each of them with me.
